As our area conditions continue to be dry it is time to think about not putting your hummingbird and birdseed feeders out, even during daytime hours, until we start receiving moisture. If these feeders are out during the day, they will still attract bears looking for food. If bears find human areas as a source of food, they lose their natural fear and can teach their cubs to do the same. Intentionally feeding or baiting a bear is illegal and can result in that bear having to be relocated and/or destroyed.
Also please remember not to leave any pet food outside and to always have fresh water available for your pets.
